pronti a cambiare dal '92

From the 1992 Biga, to the 2009 Namir,
the fastest hybrid car in the world,
a 20 year-long environmentally-friendly course.

Namir (2009)

At the 79th Geneva International Motor Show, Italdesign Giugiaro presents the fastest hybrid concept car in the world: A project based on highly sophisticated mechanical, engine and electronic technology, highlighted by Giugiaro's iconic sporting design: over 187 mph at maximum speed and an acceleration of 0 to 62,14 mph in 3.5 seconds and from 0 to 124 mph in 10.4 seconds, making this the fastest hybrid car in the world.

The Namir is on display at the Vredestein Booth, hall 1, booth 1035
.

Quaranta (2008)

Designed to celebrate Italdesign Giugiaro's forty years of business in styling and technological research at the service of the automotive sector, the Quaranta is is an "extreme" product, an environment-friendly, 4WD super sports-car which incorporates a series of innovative aspects: its styling, but also its drive technology, which combines a hybrid engine with solar energy, and its internal layout which, despite its mid-mounted rear engine, can accommodate three adults and a child, also providing a generous luggage compartment.

On march 2nd and 3rd the Quaranta prototype takes part to the Essais Verts - Pavilion Vert

Vad-ho (2007)

The 2007 Geneva Motor Show challenging "diversion" represents a niche theme meant to be heatedly discussed: a super-sporty extreme two-seater fuelled by hydrogen to meet the increasingly pressing need to promote and develop alternative and environment friendly propulsion systems and to explore the potential challenge offered to design by a more flexible "displacement" of the chassis lay-out in new engine, mechanical, and electronic equipments.

Nessie (2005)

Premiered at the 2005, Nessie is Italdesign Giugiaro's answer to the environment-friendly dilemma, giving tangible form to a heart-pounding yet clean sports utility vehicle that offers advanced solutions thanks to its hydrogen power source. The Clean SUV, or hydrogen applied with "style".

Volta (2004)

The hybrid takes a  supercar disguise for promoting a new way of designing the environment friendly car of the future. Alessandro Volta, the Italian physicist and discoverer of the voltaic pile, was called to bear witness to an exciting stage of automotive technological research, a momentum placing demands on the depth of resources required from automobile manufacturers to meet head-on pressing environmental issues such as gas emissions and the unrelenting consumption of oil-derivative products.

Lucciola (1992)

At the 1992 Turin Motor Show the Lucciola is premiered: it is a hybrid monovolume sedan with with electric traction, built with recyclable materials on an aluminum body.  The car converts into a roadster , which is why it is especially suitable for leisure time driving. Some years later this prototype becomes a world-wide seller named Matiz.

Biga (1992)

Premeired in 1992 the Biga is a small public car, fuelled by electrical motors destined for the narrow and crowded downtown streets of Italian and European cities. The revolutionary idea that inspired that project was to have a car shared with other citizens: fewer vehicles on the road equals less pollution. About 10 years later, that same concept was adopted in many European cities with the name of Car Sharing.
